Teriparatide should be administered as a subcutaneous injection into the thigh or abdominal wall.1
Subcutaneous Injection
In clinical trials, teriparatide was injected subcutaneously into the patient’s thigh or abdominal wall.1
The upper arm is an acceptable area for subcutaneous injection; however, there are no data available on the injection of teriparatide at this site.
Intravenous or Intramuscular Injection
There is no data available on the safety or efficacy of intravenous or intramuscular injection of teriparatide.
