Hyperglycemia Signs and Symptoms

Possible signs and symptoms of hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) include

  • blurred vision

  • being more hungry than usual

  • numbness or tingling in the feet

  • feeling tired or weak

  • high levels of sugar in the urine

  • using the bathroom more than usual, and/or

  • being more thirsty than usual.1,2

Ask your doctor about what blood sugar level is too high for you.

If you notice any of these signs or symptoms, you are strongly encouraged to contact your health care provider, or go to the nearest emergency room of your local hospital.
