CIALIS® (tadalafil): Switching Between Daily and As Needed Use

No clinical studies have been conducted to evaluate switching between daily and as needed therapies.

Detailed Information

We cannot recommend any strategies for alternating these therapies but can provide the following information.

Tadalafil for use as needed (5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg) is approved for the treatment of ED and may be taken up to once per day in most patients.1

Tadalafil for once daily use (2.5 mg and 5 mg) is approved for the treatment of ED and should be taken at approximately the same time daily, without regard to timing of sexual activity.1

Tadalafil for once daily use (5 mg) is approved for the treatment of signs and symptoms of BPH or for the treatment of ED and signs and symptoms of BPH and should be taken at approximately the same time daily.1

Regardless of therapy schedule, tadalafil should not be taken more than once per day.1
