Oral administration and ingestion of Baqsimi has not been studied in people with diabetes. As such, we have no information on the oral or buccal absorption of Baqsimi.
Glucagon is a single-chain polypeptide.1,2
Glucagon for injection is not active when administered and ingested orally because it is a polypeptide that is destroyed in the gastrointestinal tract before it can be absorbed.2
